About

Written by two people who live it.

Homer & Mae is Jason and Desiree — husband and wife. We write about health that feels like care, gratitude that is practiced rather than posted, and a life that has room in it.

Homer and Mae are names from our family. We believe family is the foundation of a happy, healthy life — not as a slogan, but as the ordinary work of showing up for the people you love, and for yourself, without turning care into a performance.

This is a personal brand for living well. The journal holds short notes on the body, the table, the weather, and the small choices that make a day feel like your own. The practices are three things you can keep: nourish yourself thoughtfully, share the table, stand in the weather.

We are against wellness that never rests — more tracking, more guilt, more proof you are becoming someone better. We are for what is small enough to keep: one nourishing turn, one shared table, one step outside.

If you want to walk with us, start with a piece in the journal, try one practice, or ask for the occasional notes. Write anytime. We read these.
